In multiple insistences of brazen attacks on Ahmadi Muslims in various parts of Sind, Pakistan, one victim is reported killed and one injured.
In the first instance, an Ahmdi Muslim was shot to death in the Pakistani port city of Karachi, BBC news has reported.
Rao Abdul Ghaffar was gunned down in Chakiwara area near Liari in Karachi.
Ghaffar was transferred to Civil Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds where he was pronounced dead upon arrival with one of the bullet which has passed clear through his neck as cause of his immediate death.
36 years old, Rao Ghaffar, a resident of Baldia Collony, was a teacher by profession and thought an evening school in Liari, BBC News reported quoting the Ahmadiyya spokesperson in Karachi, Maqsood Ahmad Khan.
According to Maqsood Khan, Rao Ghaffar was a victim of target killing and the police officials have been notified.
Khan further said the dead body is being transported to Rabwah, in Punjab, Pakistan for burial.
In another attempted killing in Nawab Shah, 125 miles northeast of Karachi, a local Ahmad farmer Alwi was targeted with multiple gunshots leaving him fighting for his life at a local hospital.
Coincidently, according to Maqsood Khan, Alwi’s older brother Hanif was also shot to death in a case of Ahmadi target killing two years ago.
Highlighting the recent string of attacks in Sind, Maqssod Khan said that few months ago, another Ahmadi Muslim, Naeem Gondal was killed in Karachi and before that a senior Ahmadi elder, Peer Habib Rehman, was killed in Sanghar area of Sind.
It is of note that Ahmadis were declared non-Muslim with an act of Parliament in 1974 and this Friday, September 7, is the anniversary of that constitutional amendment.
