Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) from Sheffield traveled to Doncaster on December 27th to donate food to the Doncaster Food Bank.

The Doncaster Food Bank on Thorne Road was contacted by the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim youth association of Sheffield responding to an ITV appeal for donation due to lack of food provisions.

The team purchased various items from their food list and these were donated to the staff at Doncaster Food Bank.

"This is a part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community’s ongoing practice of helping the needy and less fortunate members of our society," AMYA said. "This also forms an important part of our faith as mentioned in the Holy Quran, chapter 3, verse 111: 'You are the best people raised for the good of mankind; you enjoin good and forbid evil and believe in Allah.'”

The local youth leader Shahzad Ahmed Athar said, “We are fortunate to have been able to donate for the less fortunate members of our society and will continue our endeavors to contribute positively towards the society we live in.”
