Qadian: More than thirty thousand followers from over 30 countries are expected to participate in the 124th three-day Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a dynamic, fast growing international revival movement within Islam, at their headquarters in Qadian town of the border district of Gudaspur in Punjab from December 26 to December 28.

Addressing a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club on Thursday, community representatives Maulana Hamid Kausar, K Tariq Ahmad, Sk. Mujahid Ahmad, Ataul Mujeed Lone and Sami ur Rahman said the world is passing through very turbulent times. The similarities to the period just before the Second World War continue to be cited and it seems clear that events are moving the world at an unprecedented pace towards a horrific third world war. There is an overwhelming sense that things are quickly getting out of control and the people are looking for someone to step on to the stage to offer concrete, solid, guidance in which they can have confidence and that speaks to their heart and mind alike and gives them hope that there is a path that can lead to peace.

The purpose of Islam is to teach man the ways of attaining peace, both with himself and with his Creator. Under Divine direction, over 1,400 years ago, Hadrat Muhammadsa, the Holy Founder of Islam, began the process of delivering this message to humanity. God raised Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas, a true and most sincere servant of the Holy Prophetsa, to rejuvenate the faith and instill the love of God in the hearts of men so that they may again learn the ways of peace and avoid destruction.

The Jalsa Salana Qadian, one of the largest Muslim gatherings in India, aims to promote Global Peace, harmony, tolerance, brotherhood & Mutual respect. This was initiated in 1891 by the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Like previous years, this event will feature a session on world religions on December 27. In this session representatives of various religions participate and express their views to promote global peace, brotherhood, tolerance, mutual respect and understanding. Ministers, MLAs, MPs and other local office bearers of political parties and dignitaries along with the spiritual leaders participate in this session.

It will also feature a keynote address by the Khalifa of Islam Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community live from London on December 28. Thousands of members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community attending the convention eagerly wait to listen to the faith inspiring speech of their beloved spiritual leader. His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad delivers his speech from London which is telecast in the community’s satellite channel and is viewed live by the members.

All the residents of Qadian whether he is a Sikh or Hindu, Chirstian or a Muslim, irrespective of religions are helping the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to make this event a grand success.
