Sri Lanka: Quran Sinhala Translation gifted to Opposition Leader at Parliament Complex

A copy of the Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an with some other literatures including Peace Messages in English and Sinhala were presented.

A three member delegation led by Mr. A.H. Nasir Ahmad – National President of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Sri Lanka (AMJSL) met Honorable. R.  Sampanthan, M.P., Leader of the Opposition, at Parliament Complex, Sri Jeyawardenapura, Kotte on 9 December 2015.

Welcoming the delegation, the Opposition Leader was given a brief introduction about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community by Mr. Anis Ahmad, National Vice President (AMJSL). Mr. A.H. Nasir Ahmad briefed about the Holy Qur’an translations being done by worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and pointed out that the Community had translated this Holy Book into 76 languages of the world. The Opposition Leader commended this noble task and said he accepts this gift with utmost gratitude.

Mr. A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary (AMJSL), while pointing out the unique feature of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, said that the community -- which has a central spiritual leadership -- is termed as 'ONE COMMUNITY – ONE LEADER’.

He added that the Community’s motto is ’LOVE FOR ALL; HATRED FOR NONE’.

The Opposition Leader was also told about the tireless efforts being made by the Khalifa and the Ahmadiyya worldwide leader, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, by spreading the true teachings of Islam through various means, particularly addressing lawmakers at Capitol Hill, EU Parliament, in Ireland Parliament, and recently the Dutch Parliament. He was informed about the gist of His Holiness' address during the recent Dutch Parliament visit.

Honorable Sampanthan was also  presented the copy of addresses of the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community ‘The World Crisis and the Path Way to Peace’ and the Sinhala Translation of the book ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’ written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam ahmad – Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the Promised Messiah and Imam-al-Mahdi.
