Canada: Residents engage with Henna and dialogue; event hosted by Ahmadi Muslim Women Auxiliary


Their aim is to help people understand the teachings of Islam and remove the misconceptions and prejudices about Muslim women.

The Ahmadiya Muslim Women's Auxiliary of Lloydminster hosted an Ask a Question and Get Free Henna event at the Lloyd Mall on Friday, April 1, in order to continue dialogue with Border City residents.

President Rizwana Ahmad said the event was a friendly step towards opening dialogues between people and them.

On Friday, people were welcome to approach them to ask any question and then receive a henna tattoo.

"Ahmadiya Muslim Women's Auxiliary Lloydminster has been taking such initiatives in the past like Je Suis Hijabi campaign in December 2015, or symposiums where people of different thoughts express their views and explore similarities," she said, and went on to say each event acquire to be peaceful and genuine.

Their aim is to help people understand the teachings of Islam and remove the misconceptions and prejudices about Muslim women.

"There is a simple, noble woman behind a veil or scarf (hijab). Many people came to our table inquiring and asking questions. Henna was a big hit, (and) it served as an incentive to open up dialogues. We got a very positive feedback and compliments."

Ahmad also said interested parties took brochures and showed interest in reading their books.

"(This event) should show the world what true Islam represents, rather than focusing on the merciless acts of the tiny minority. Islam is a beautiful religion. In the first chapter of Quran Allah say that Allah the Almighty is the Provider and Sustainer of all the worlds. He is the Gracious and Ever Merciful. Thus, when Allah the Almighty is the Provider and Sustainer of all people and the Gracious and Merciful. It is our duty to carry beautiful teachings of Islam."

"We have taken this step in circumstances when picture of Islam is getting dusty and fear about Islam is increasing .We feel a great responsibility to present the true picture of Islam at this time. We don't want our next generation to go in wrong directions. We want to bring integrity in society so each one could work together for a peaceful society we all should play our respective roles in spreading humanity, true peace, in all parts of the world."

Their next event, Meena Bazaar, will be at Lakeland College in Room.

1031A from 1 to 4 p.m., and will feature ethnic eat Indian food, Henna art, clothes, and more.

The Ahmadiya Muslim Women's Auxiliary focuses on education, humanitarian work, and the Jihad of self-Improvement and of spreading peace.
