Letter: Actions speak louder than words | Madeel Abdullah, MD

The Prophet Muhammad drew attention towards the planting of trees: "If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as charity from him" (Bukhari).

Dear Editor,

April 22nd is Earth Day. As Muslims, Islam teaches us to cherish and protect this planet.

The Prophet Muhammad drew attention towards the planting of trees: "If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as charity from him" (Bukhari).

In this spirit, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association USA has planted nearly 4,000 trees in the last two years as actions speak louder than words.
