Hundreds of devoted followers from the United States are planning to go and see him as he address members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for three providential days [in Toronto].

Imagine, if you will, a leader of millions who spends every waking hour of the day trying to establish sustainable peace throughout the world. Despite having tens of millions of devoted followers across the globe, this same leader is so humble that he still changes the light bulbs in his small flat in London, prepares his own clothes, and tends to his own garden. Envision a leader so hardworking and devoted that he works 7 days a week, only taking a brief holiday maybe once every 5 months. Picture him writing, researching and delivering an hour long addresses to millions of people across the globe every week. Wouldn’t it be great if you could also write a letter to this person and receive a personal written response, or even meet with him and shake his hand?
If you look at the list of world leaders today, none of them is able to fit such prospects save one. That individual is his Holiness, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the Khalifa Caliph of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. In addition to his above mentioned responsibilities, he travels the globe spreading peace. He has addressed the US Congress, as well as, parliamentarians of other nations and world leaders, directing their attention toward sacrificing personal desires in favor of establishing peace.
In a recent address in Germany, he stated: “A while ago someone asked me how we could establish peace in society and what my definition of peace was. I answered by saying that in my opinion the definition of peace was to seek to fulfill the rights of other people, rather than to demand or seek your own rights. If all people fulfill the rights of others then conflict or discord is impossible. Certainly, this is the type of society Ahmadi Muslims desire and strive for.”
He regularly delivers an hour long sermon every Friday that is broadcasted worldwide through a satellite television station called MTA (www.mta.tv). He has so much love for humanity and his followers that he personally responds to hundreds of letters daily, including letters from children. Furthermore, he even meets with individual families every day and tries to get acquainted with each one. His love knows no boundaries and extends to people of all faiths, ethnicities, and backgrounds without prejudice.
He is a strong advocate for women’s rights and continuously addresses men and women to respect the rights of each other and the rights of all human beings as elucidated by the Holy Qur’an. His Holiness has explained, “So extensive is this safeguarding of rights that no Muslim woman can be adequately grateful for these commandments in the Holy Qur’an. No other religious book or shariah watches over women’s rights so well. Not only are the rights established, but men are also advised to overlook women’s mistakes and weaknesses. Men are, moreover, encouraged to treat them gently and with kindness. This kindness should not be limited as a reward for something that pleases them; rather, they have to be kind even if they do not like them. This is how Islam has set the standard of women’s rights at the highest level.”
Now what if I told you that this man of peace will be coming to North America? He will be visiting Canada in the month of October and will address the Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) in Mississauga, Ontario on October 7th, 8th, and 9th. Hundreds of devoted followers from the United States are planning to go and see him as he address members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for three providential days.
This convention is like none other and it is impossible to put the experience into words. It is an excellent opportunity to learn about Islam and speak with Muslims. His Holiness has explained, “Dialogue between different communities and groups is extremely important and the way to break down barriers and to foster mutual understanding. We should remember that we all make mistakes and have weaknesses and so it is better to focus on each other’s qualities and try to ignore their shortcomings. This is the way to build bridges and the means for peace.”
I humbly invite everyone in America to attend this convention and learn about the path to peace.
