A minute's silence will be held in memory of victims of the Manchester terror attack in Huddersfield this weekend ahead of a charity walk.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) will be holding a minute’s silence on their three-mile walk at the Baitul Tauhid Mosque in Huddersfield.

The walk will take place later today, a day before many Muslims begin the month of fasting across the country.

The minute’s silence will be held to pray for the victims of the Manchester attacks and their families.

The walk will be raising vital funds for fellow British children and will be supporting Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice, which supports children with life-limiting conditions.

“Given the tragic attacks in Manchester, we feel that it is vital for all of Britain to unite under the banner of peace and unity. This walk is also a symbolic way for the children to show that true Islam seeks only to help the vulnerable. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) has taught us that ‘loyalty to your country is part of your faith.’ We wish to unite with our fellow Brits of all backgrounds and the children will be walking to support the vulnerable.”

– ADAM WALKER, THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE AHMADIYYA MUSLIM YOUTH ASSOCIATION
