'We can all unite in this tragic period in our history'

In an attack of outright cowardice and terrorism, an attacker opened fire in Las Vegas, killing 58 innocent people and leaving nearly 500 injured.

As a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, USA, I condemn this senseless and vile attack. Terror, in any of its forms, is unacceptable and against the fabric of any moral system.

I would also like to offer my heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, who were only trying to enjoy a relaxing, fun night. My earnest prayers are with them at this time.

While the pain and shock is still present, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association USA is trying to help our fellow Americans by mobilizing to donate blood in support and memory of the victims. It is my hope and prayer that we can all unite in this tragic period in our history, and may we not tolerate any form of violence or abuse as it eliminates any hope of a peaceful and prosperous future.
