On the last Friday of Ramadan, while Muslims are enduring fifteen hours ofasting during the heat, most have their minds on getting the most blessings. The first priority during Ramadan is to pray at the mosque.
During the biggest flood Pakistan has ever experienced, it isn't hard to fnd a source of blessings. One could feed the displaced refugees, help at a shelter, place sand bags where water still threatened towns. Instead of finding something positive to do for those in desperate circumstances, several taliban suicide bombers tried to gain access to the Ahmadi mosque in Mardan, Pakistan.
Since the Taliban successfully bombed two mosques in Lahore, the Ahmadis were on the alert and determined to keep the bombers from killing Ahmadis as they prayed. Ahmadis volunteer to stand guard duty.
Several suicide bombers approached the mosque. When one of the attackers was wouned, he blew himself up as soon as he was injured. The wall of the mosque fell on top of him as a result of the detonation, which caused his death.
Sheikh Amir Razzah, a 40 year old business owner, was killed when the suicide bomber blew himself up. My husband, Ghayyur Khan remembers going to his father's toy shop to look at the toys when he was a child.
Mr. Razzah's father and uncle were both martyed in a brutal manner, simply because they are Ahmadi-Muslims.
The rest of the suicide bombers ran away when they met resistance. The Mullahs never send their own children on such heinious missions. They feed poor orphan boys and promise them "janaat" or heaven for a "successful" suicide mission.
The prophet Muhamed predicted a time when "mosques would be full of worshippers and empty of righteousness and their leaders would be the worst creation under the sun." This prophecy has been fulfilled by the Taliban.
The Muslim extremists started attacking Ahmadis in the 1920s. It was at that time that their verbal attacks turned into physical attacks. Since that time, they have evolved into a group recognized around the world as "the Taliban."
Many Ahmadis were wounded when the wall of the mosque fell during the attack. Mr. Razzah left behind a nine year old boy and a one year old daughter.
Please pray for the Ahmadis who only intended to pray while they fasted, because that is their duty in Islam. As you may already know, the Mullahs kicked 500 Ahmadis out of shelters during the flood. And, 86 Ahmadis were killed in Lahore in May by the Taliban suicide bombers.
