Leader says ignore Pastor who said he would burn holy book
MILWAUKEE-Dr. Muhammad Sabir of the Bait ul Qadir Mosque
says when it comes to a proposed Koran burning in Florida Saturday, "We are not going to protest or do anything."
It remains uncertain if Pastor Terry Jones will burn the Muslim Holy Book to commemorate the 9th anniversary of 9/11.
He cancelled the burning Thursday because he was told plans had been scrapped to build an Islamic Center near Ground Zero.
When Islamic leaders said no such deal was made, Jones said Friday he didn't know what he was going to do.
Dr. Sabir tells CBS 58 News that, " We really don't care what he does. If he's going to do that go ahead, burn the Koran. That's not going to hurt the religion. The religion is not predicated in a just a book alone."
