Re: "Censoring honest comment is wrong; Radio analyst who fears Muslims on airplanes speaks for many people," by Lorne Gunter, Oct. 24.
I had developed great respect for Lorne Gunter, but this time he did not do a good job with the subject of Muslims in Canada.
How he could he even know it was an "honest" comment by this radio analyst? Gunter has expressed his dislike for the religion of Islam in a carefully crafted, poorly written column trying to be politically correct. How do you even identify a Muslim travelling in an airplane?
What ignorance about Muslims and Islam, by learned people such as Gunter and that radio commentator.
Muslims are peaceful people and Islam is a religion of peace. The suggestion to have a frank and open discussion about national security and our Muslim citizens is a good one and I hope it is an "honest" suggestion.
Muslims living in Canada are all painted with the same brush, as if they are ready to cause problems in airplanes and in society.
Gunter should take up his "honest" suggestion and initiate dialogue with Muslims in Canada and see where are those mosques which preach violence and where is the potential for radicalization.
As a member of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community I want to declare that we are peaceful citizens and we would love to have a dialogue with anybody interested.
There is a need to bring this subject of Muslims, Islam, terrorism, suicide bombings and radical breeding grounds out in the open.

Some times we even have educated ignorant in society and some times Scholarly peaceful fanatics. Yep Fanatic and Peaceful both in same sentence I used.
ReplyDeleteIts this EGO of "we are always right" what has caused the issues. It make sense to encourage every faith to have more day to day open discussions including yearly internal faith conference.
