Pakistan: Christmas party held at Jamat-e Islami office - [But, blasphemy laws to stay put]

[Believe it or not:] Expressing solidarity with the Christian community on their festival, Prof Ghafoor Ahmad, Asadullah Bhutto, Mohammad Hussain Mehnati and other JI leaders told a large number of Christian audience that Islam and Pakistan`s constitution guaranteed protection and due rights to non-Muslims.

KARACHI, Dec 21: Jamaat-i-Islami leaders speaking at a Christmas gathering at the party office, Idara Noor-i-Haq, called for promoting harmony among civilisations amid the chaos caused by global terrorism, saying that a clash of civilisations in an atmosphere of mistrust could only pose a serious threat to the human race.
