People of all faiths attended a "Muslims for Peace" symposium in Loudonville on Sunday to promote understanding and enlightenment.
The title of the event was "In Pursuit of Peace and Harmony."
The three-hour-long symposium was part of the "Muslims for Peace" campaign - a nationwide effort to denounce extremism and terrorism.
Speakers from different religions spoke to a crowd of approximately 100 people.
Tahria Khan, the president of the women's auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Albany, explains, "We've got people who are from the different denominations that are represented here and then we have people who don't even believe in God and want to just find out about what the different faiths mean and it's just a way of us all coming together and realizing how much we've got in common and, really, how little divides us."
This is the second year that the Hindu Community Center in Loudonville has hosted the symposium.
