Muslims in the Indonesian capital have held Friday Prayers outside the US embassy in protest against recent anti-Islam acts.

The people gathered in front of the embassy building in Jakarta to condemn a blasphemous movie produced in the United States and the French weekly Charlie Hebdo’s publication of cartoons that disrespect Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

On Thursday, Indonesian Muslims held an anti-blasphemy demonstration in the province of South East Sulawesi, chanting anti-US slogans and forcing a franchise US restaurant to close.

The protesters also called on Washington to prosecute those involved in the production of the sacrilegious movie.

Over the past days, the Muslim world has been outraged by the blasphemous movie and the French magazine’s September 19 publication of the insulting cartoons.

Demonstrations against the anti-Islam moves have been held across the Muslim world and several non-Muslim countries, with protesters in some countries marching on the US embassies and torching US flags.
