Azerbaijan: The devout stage pro-hijab protest in front of Ministry of Education
APA reports that the protestors chanted slogans demanding to remove the prohibition against hijab. Protestors clashed with the police involved in the site to prevent the action.

Baku. Etibar Mammadov – APA. A group of religious men held a protest action in front of the Ministry of Education.
APA reports that the protesters chanted slogans demanding to remove the prohibition against “hijab” (turban)
The protesters who were mostly the parents of Muslim students chanted slogans calling it the anti-Islamic law.
Protestors clashed with the police involved in the site to prevent the action. Several police and protestors were injured. They were hospitalized.
The Azeri government has refused to lift the ban, defending it as part of its attempt to revive Soviet-era school uniforms in public education.
The protest action was prevented, several protestors were detained.
Police Department #16 of Narimanov District Police Office told APA that a group of people attempted to hold a protest action illegally out side the Ministry of Education. Several people were detained while violating public rules.
