Germany: Ahmadi Muslims present Islam where women and men are equal

Presided over by an elected Caliph, the community seeks to reassert the original values of Islam; mercy towards all people, absolute justice, equality between men and women, separation of religion and State, ending of violence in the name of religion; as well as struggle for human rights, as they are laid down in the Holy Quran.

Islamic reform movement, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, presents Islam Exhibition

The Islamic reform movement, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (AMC) presented a traveling exhibition on Islam on Saturday and Sunday in the parlor at Usinger City Hall.

The exhibition, entitled "Islam - Past and Present" was shown in its entirety.

The exhibition, which is intended to counteract the often poorly portrayed image of Islam in the world, was open to everyone.

Both historical and theological aspects were considered and presented in a form that the visitors were shown a complete picture of the religion of Islam.

"We believe in Hadrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad [the founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community] as the Messiah which distinguishes us from other Muslim communities," said Faiza Ahmad, in charge of women’s inter-faith dialogue, who with her brother Nasir, in charge of the inter-faith dialogue for men, are traveling with the exhibition.

In 1889, Hadrat Ahmad founded this Islamic reform movement, called the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, which now has tens of millions of followers in over 200 countries of the world.

AMC is the largest Islamic reform movement in our time.

Presided over by an elected Caliph, the community seeks to reassert the original values of Islam; mercy towards all people, absolute justice, equality between men and women, separation of religion and State, ending of violence in the name of religion; as well as struggle for human rights, as they are laid down in the Holy Quran.

This makes the community unique according to many independent scholars.

Easily understandable and comprehensible information about Islam was shown in its entirety on large-format, illustrated boards, among whom was the often-misunderstood notion of Jihad.

So the supposed translation -"Holy war" - was not of Islamic origin, but has been carried from the Bible in the book of Joel. The term translates to Jihad: an effort on the path of God. The largest of three Jihad is the struggle against one’s own self and bad behavior.

The Holy Quran was displayed as part of the exhibition on large display boards which included the Messiah, the holy sites of Islam, the Caliphate, and the spread of the Islamic religion in the world and in Europe as well.

Members and followers of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community are still killed worldwide, according to Ahmad.
