According to a local news published by Main-Spitze in Nauheim region, three ‘Trees of the Year’ were planted and the Ahmadiyya Muslim community has assumed all the expenses of the event with spirit to promote social goodwill.
The Elsbeere trees came from a nursery near Lärmschutzwal and were planted at their pre-designated places.
SDC, a division of the German Forestry, and geroßgarau chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community joined in the ceremony to plant these three trees.
Mayer Jan Fischer (CDU) appreciated the previous tree planting events of 2009, 2010 and 2011 as well, where Majlis Ansarillah, the elders' auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community had assumed the full financial responsibility of the efforts.
Mayor said a plaque installed in the community’s name memorializes their dedication.
To smoothly conclude the ceremony, the city gardeners had already prepared the locations with necessary excavations, and had the planting soil and water available to complete the tasks.
Once the plants were erected, the planting soil was placed and trees were watered.
The attendees were offered refreshments at the conclusion.
Apple has been selected as the tree of the year for 2013 and wild apple trees will be planted next year, it was decided and announced.
