Perspective: Killing of British soldier was horrible and counter to Islamic teachings | letter

As an Ahmadi Muslim who believes the Promised Messiah has arrived, it pains me when I hear about a Canadian soldier getting killed, I can only imagine what British are going through.

Murder of an innocent individual is against teachings of all religions. The murder of a British soldier in Britain is horrible. Islam’s Holy Prophet taught that loyalty to one’s country is part of faith. How can any Muslim justify killing a soldier who is meant to defend the nation they are residing in? If an individual is not pleased with conflicts their country is involved in, they can leave the country instead of causing restlessness.

These extremists strive to defame the name of Islam in any setting possible. Islam’s Holy Book teaches that an unjust murder of an individual is equitable to killing of the entire mankind. One can’t be a true Muslim until they pay dues owed to God and dues owed to mankind. Regardless of your opinion on wars, one should respect humanity and citizens of a nation.

As an Ahmadi Muslim who believes the Promised Messiah has arrived, it pains me when I hear about a Canadian soldier getting killed, I can only imagine what British are going through.
