KUWAIT CITY, April 21: The Central Prisons Administration affirms an inmate detained for blasphemy, Hamad Al-Naqqi, is in good condition after engaging another inmate identified as Muammar M in a fight, reports Al-Qabas daily.
A source was quoted as saying the prisons' officials have isolated Al-Naqqi and his attacker to avoid further attacks. He also said the Head of Sulaibiya Police Station has registered the case for full investigation.
The source noted the Deputy Director General for Central Prisons Lieutenant Colonel Senafi Al-Ajmi reported the incident and presented medical report in that regard.
Meanwhile, Al-Watan daily says Al-Naqqi's morale was dampened due to fear of further attacks when other inmates were informed he has been detained for blasphemy.
Al-Naqqi claims knowing nothing about the alleged blasphemous statement and still maintains his Twitter account was hacked by unknown persons.
