The second batch of Ahmadiyya Muslim missionaries from the UK campus of the Ahmadiyya Muslim seminary of languages and higher religious learning, Jamia Ahmadiyya, graduated yesterday, it was reported.
The Khalīfa of Islam and the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Hazrat [His Holiness] Mirza Masroor Ahmad, presided over the convocation ceremony.
According to the information posted on Twitter, the popular micro-blogging and social media website, 20 missionaries graduated with Shahid Degrees.
“#KhalifaOfIslam conferred 20 graduates with the ‘Shahid Degree’, thus enrolling them as official Ahmadiyya Muslim Missionaries,” wrote Dr. Basharat Nazir, Press Secretary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association of UK.
Each graduate received a certificate and a special prize from His Holiness Hadhrat Ahamd, it was further learned.
Dr Nazir said Hazrat Ahmad addressed the graduating missionaries saying the Holy Quran speaks of two types of religious clerics. 'One, there are clerics who fear God, who bow before Him and who seek to serve humanity, and two, there are corrupt clerics who don’t bring people closer to God but rather they prove to be an obstacle in His path.’
His Holiness said it was imperative that the new Missionaries did not limit themselves only to religious study but should also learn about current affairs so that they could better understand the needs of today’s society, it was further reported.
The new graduates, according to the reports, are all posted to Spain, where they will seek to promote the true and peaceful teachings of Islam across the country.
After Spain, the new graduates will go to the community’s permanent International Headquarters for further training before being appointed to their respective roles.
