A NEW community group has been helping the homeless, elderly and others throughout the Christmas period in Milton Keynes.
Waqas Khokar, head of the MK based charity Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, and volunteers at the organisation have helped several groups in the city.
Christmas presents and toys were donated to Milton Keynes Hospital, and the group has agreed to salt or grit Christ the Cornerstone church should it be affected by adverse weather conditions this winter.
At Christmas, Khuddamul Ahmadiyya MK also volunteered at the Milton Keynes Christmas Party for the Elderly. picking up elderly people from their retirement homes in Pennylands and taking them to the party as well as bringing them back home in the evening.
“This was a very enjoyable and humbling experience and it also enabled me to make links with some of the elderly people at the retirement home, who have asked me to visit them whenever I can,” said Mr Khokar.
Members of Khuddamul Ahmadiyya took it upon themselves to help and feed some of the homeless people in Milton Keynes who were unable to go to any of the shelters.

The group now want to plant trees in Milton Keynes after undergoing a similar scheme in St Albans.
“As our motto, ‘Love for all hatred for none’ states, it is our aim to give back to the community regardless of religion, age or gender,” Mr Khokar added.
“We are a loving community always looking to make links with other associations.”
