India: Ahmadiyya Book Stall a tremendous attraction at 39th Annual International KolKata Book Fair


Thousands of pamphlets and leaflets were distributed in many languages by the Ahmadiyya members from the three main wings of the community, Majlis Ausarullah (Ahmadi elders), Lajna Imaillah (Ahmadi ladies), and Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (Ahmadi youth).

It was a popular bookstall organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Kolkata, for their participation at the 39th Annual International Kolkata Book Fair, held since 1977.

The book fair – with this year's theme ‘The Great Britain’– ran from January 28 to February 8, at Milan Mela Ground in Kolkata, in the state of West Bengal, India.

Many international bookstalls including those representing government also debuted from the U.S., Bangladesh, Japan, Germany, and Turkey among others.

For their 38th participation in the book fair, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community set up a grand and splendid presentation with the Holy Quran's on display in 60 languages which acted as a cynosure for the visitors.

The visitors generously complemented the Ahmadiyys Book Stall organizers with heartiest congratulations for the community's message of peace and many expressed their compliments and eulogies in the Visitors Book.

Thousands of pamphlets and leaflets were distributed in many languages by the Ahmadiyya members from the three main wings of the community, Majlis Ausarullah (Ahmadi elders), Lajna Imaillah (Ahmadi ladies), and Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (Ahmadi youth); and their two sub-organizations, Atfalul Ahmadiyya (Ahmadi boys [ages 7-14], and Nasiratul Ahmadiyya (Ahmadi girls [ages 7-14]).

Visitors purchased thousands of books from the Ahmadiyya stall and hundreds were distributed free of charge. Several special titles were also made available on complementary basis including 'Life of Muhammad' by late Hazrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (1889–1965) and World Crisis & Pathway to Peace, a collection of speeches and sermons by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the worldwide head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

A delegation of Ahmadi members visited many other religious, secular and foreign countries stalls and presented them with various books of the community including titles, World Crisis & Pathway to Peace and Life of Muhammad.

Various scholars including Prof. Amartya Sen (Nobel Laureate & Economist), Mr. Ali Hayder (Author U.K.), Mrs. Sire Sheraze (Author U.K.) were presented with the book World Crisis & Pathway to Peace.

The stall and The Holy Quran display was given coverage by various means including big & small organisations covering satellite and press media.
