Qadian, India: Two-days free medical camp organized by Masjid Mubarik Halqa

A two-days free medical camp, organized by the youth wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Majlis Khudam-ul Ahmadiyya, of Masjid Mubarik Halqa, commences here in Qadian.

Nasar Ahmad Ghori, area president of Majlis Khudam-ul Ahmadiyya Qadian said the medical camp is held to coincide with the occasion of "Sang", when millions of Sikh devotees go to Dera Baba Nanank, a city in Gurdaspur district in the state of Punjab, India.

Nasar Ghori said countless Sikh devotees pass through Ahmadiyya Mohalla in Qadian and the Ahmadiyya youth organized the medical camp to provide free medical assistance to the traveling devotees. Thousands of passers-by took benefit from this medical camp.

Majlis also provided preventive homeopathic medicines to protect the people from swine flu.

The medical camp was organized under the supervision of Chaudhry Mansoor Ghanokay.

Background:

Sikh devotees travel on foot from Khandiala Sainia, Hoshiarpur, to see the "Chola Sahib" of Guru Nanak Dev ji, the holy founder of Sikhism. Chola Sahib is a shirt-robe garment which was worn by Guru Nanak Dev Ji and it is now kept in a Gurudwara at Dera Baba Nanak.
