USA: Ahmadi Muslim youth group collects 5,040 units of blood, feeds 180,000 homeless in one year


AMYA, a nationwide youth group that works with young Muslim men and boys around the country, serves as the young men and boys auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) USA, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, meets important humanitarian services goals the organization had set for its 2014-15 year.

Under the leadership of its national president, Dr Bilal Rana, the organization had projected to feed 100,000 people in the U.S. as part of its 'Feed the Hungry' initiative, and collect 5,000 units of blood as part of the 'Muslims for Life' campaign, during the 2014-2015 year.

The organization now reports that during the year, its over 65 chapters nationwide participated in various social services activities that included feeding programs at shelters, mass food packaging, and collecting food items for pantries, resulting into feeding of more than 180,000 people during this past year.

The goal to collect 5,000 units of blood, which was assigned to the organization by the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim leader, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad. was met with collection of 5,039 units in the organization nationwide campaign.

AMYA, a nationwide youth group that works with young Muslim men and boys around the country, serves as the young men and boys auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Officially established in the United States in 1939, AMYA is one of the earliest Muslim Youth organizations in the United States.

The association is comprised of more than 3,000 men and boys aged 7 to 40, spread across 70 local chapters. The organization has the distinction of having Grammy, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize recipients as its members at various times.

AMYA is headquartered in Silver Springs MD.
