Dr Khan Rafi A. Sahibzada, the Medical Director of Agona Swedru Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Hospital, says the continuous delay in payment of National Health Insurance Claims has become a major obstacle to the effective running of the health facilities.
He said the assurance given by the President Nana Akufo-Addo in state of nation’s Address would go a long way to help ensure that outstanding claims would be paid to enhance quality health care delivery.
Dr Sahibzada said this at the commissioning of GH¢350,000 modern Maternity Ward for the Alhmadiyya Muslim Mission Hospital at Agona Swedru in the Central Region.
He said the project came as a result of his Mother Nazi Muhammad Zai, a retired Justice of Supreme Court of Pakistan and Member of Intentional Court of Justice who visited him here in Ghana and saw some pregnant women sleeping on broken beds at the maternity ward and decided to assist in the construction of new maternity ward.
