Malta: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community helps people in need

The Ahmadiyya Community’s humanitarian concerns are in respect of all human beings in keeping with its motto: ‘Love for all; Hatred for none’.

(TA' XBIEX) - Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Malta recently donated 13 packets of food items to Dar tal-Providenza, a Maltese charitable institute which helps the disabled and handicapped people.

Director Fr Martin Micallef received the packages from Laiq Ahmed Atif, president and director of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Malta, The Times of Malta reported.

“We got time from the director of Dar tal-Providenza [and] on 29th June we went to donate food items at his office,” says Mr. Atif.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat carries out direct and indirect charitable works to help people in need, irrespective of faith, colour, creed or nationality.

Dar tal-Providenza is a charitable organization which helps the disabled and handicapped people. Situated in Siggiewi, Malta, the Dar tal-Providenza opened its doors for the first time in February 1968 to provide round-the-clock care to people with disabilities, as well as support to their relatives.

Today, the Dar tal-Providenza is led by Fr. Martin Micallef, who in 2008 succedeed Mgr. Lawrence Gatt.


The worldwide Ahmadiyya Community has long established for itself a reputation of peaceful coexistence and services in many social projects aimed at helping communities.  They are actively engaged in charitable work and running schools and hospitals in the developing countries where the need is most acute.
