Indo-Pak Border: Protest against Pak minister Bhatti's killing

ATTARI: Various Christian organizations of Punjab held a demonstration at Indo-Pak international border here against the killing of Pakistan minority affairs minister Shahbaz Bhatti, first and only Christian minister in Pakistan cabinet. Blaming Pak government for its failure to protect the minority communities including Hindus, Sikhs and Christians, they demanded scrapping of Pak's infamous blasphemy law.

Bishop of Amritsar, Church of North India, PK Samantaroy said, "We will not give up this issue here." He said they would take up the matter with their partner organizations across the globe so that the same could be taken up with UNO.


The organizations that took part in demonstration, included Church of North India, Roman Catholic Chruch and Salvation Army under the banner of United Christian Forum for Human Rights. Prominently among others who participated in the protest demonstration included Father Anil Kutu, Diocese of Jalandhar, Divisional Commander Major Makhan Masih, Salvation Army and Fathar Roby, Director St Francis School.

Bishop Kuttu said such antihuman actions wouldn't be tolerated. Major Makhan Masih said the entire Christian community was behind the Pak Christians Coordinator, Socio Economic Development Programme Daniel B Das.
