Pakistan: PML-N sees Zardari's direct involvement in Benazir's murder, her will as fake

ISLAMABAD: For the first time directly involving President Zardari in the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, the PML-N Monday warned him to refrain from levelling “baseless allegations” against Nawaz Sharif.

“Before uttering any word against Nawaz Sharif, President Zardari should remember that he himself, Rehman Malik and Babar Awan are facing serious charges of killing Benazir Bhutto making PPP hostage by using a fake will of late PPP chairperson,” said PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq while addressing a news conference here at the party secretariat.

Farooq also called Babar Awan creator of fake document of the will of Benazir Bhutto predicting that one day he would turn an approver in Benazir’s murder case and in her “fake” last will.


Siddiqul Farooq went on to say that had President Zardari not been involved in killing Benazir Bhutto with the help of Pervez Musharraf and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, he would not have allowed the ex-dictator to leave the country and he should have also accepted United Nations inquiry report in Benazir’s assassination. “Zardari has been changing his statements with regard to BB killing which also prove that he is involved in the heinous crime,” he charged.

The PML-N leader also accused President Zardari of making a telephone call to Benazir Bhutto asking her to open the sunroof of her vehicle and talk to her supporters after she had addressed thousands of people at Liaquat Bagh the day she was assassinated.

He accused Babar Awan of forging the document of the will of Benazir Bhutto. “Had she written down her last will, Benazir Bhutto might have made it public in her life,” Farooq said. To a question, Siddiqul Farooq said alliance of President Zardari and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is “union of killers” of Benazir Bhutto and corrupt mafia. “One group shifted billions of rupees to Swiss banks and other group has been involved in multibillion scam of export and import of wheat,” he said.

Ridiculing the statement of President Zardari, the PML-N leader said if according to him he had pardoned Nawaz Sharif, he should also forgive the federation of Pakistan and stop playing Sindh card and give up double standards.
