Nigeria: Ahmadiyya Muslim Women conference opens in Osun State

The conference with the theme, “The True Concept of Jihad”, attracted thousands of women across Nigeria and the neighbouring countries.

LAGOS -The 35th edition of the Islamic Conference of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Women (Lajna Imaillah Nigeria) has been held at Ile Ife Osun State. It was declared open by the Ooni of Ife and the Spiritual leader of the Yorubas, Oba Okunade Sijuade.

Other dignitaries that witnessed the occasion was the wife of the Osun State Governor, Alhaja Sherifat Aregbesola, who implored women to always assist and respect their husbands in managing the affairs of their families.

She also urged them to continue the golden traditions of taking care of children and wards, so as to bring back best moral teaching to stamp out the current corrupt practice among the youths.


The conference with the theme, “The True Concept of Jihad”, attracted thousands of women across Nigeria and the neighbouring countries.

Among the Islamic papers presented by erudite Islamic scholars are: The Secret of Inner Peace, Women and Jihad.

The programme, which was held for four day kick off on Thursday 20th to Sunday 23rd October at the Oduduwa College, Ile Ife.

The conference also paid courtesy visits to the Ooni of Ife, Obalufe and visited public schools run by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat in Ile ife, General hospital, home for the orphans and the prison.
