A Muslim youth group will be hosting an open house at the Grimsby Public Library this Saturday.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association of Canada has been promoting peace, condemning terrorism and dispelling myths about Islam as part of a national campaign for the past year.

The campaign has included two stops in Grimsby, the first was an open-house style event at the library in the summer and the second was a visit by several canvassers who knocked on doors across town.

The group is returning Saturday for an open house at the library from noon to 4 p.m. The open house is one of several taking place across Ontario  from Jan. 14 to 21.

The open house, called “A Tribute to Mother Mary”, is being held to promote religious harmony, dispel misconceptions about Islam and most of all to educate people about the status that Islam gives to “Mother Mary” and women in general.
