Imran, Fakhar, Abdul and Nasir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association got into the true-blue spirit last week in preparation for their Australia Day celebration day this Sunday.

Event co-ordinator Naureen Choudhry said the association was looking forward to opening its Langwarrin doors and were inviting the Mornington Peninsula and Frankston communities to share the celebrations and learn more about the Ahmadiyya Muslims.

She said local people had expressed interest in the organisation and members were excited that the wider community would get an opportunity to gain a better understanding of what the group was about.

"We felt this enthusiasm and thought we'd capitalise on it to make some friends and share our culture."

The open day will include a formal program from 11am, followed by a social hour, including a barbecue and henna tattoo stall.

The event will be held at the Ahmadiyya Centre, 6 Leisureland Drive, Langwarrin. Details: Naureen on 9704 6857 or Imran, 0432 245 382.
