Muslims and Anglicans are putting on a faith-based symposium in an effort to promote social peace.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Bermuda is organising the event in conjunction with the Anglican Church and Citizens Uprooting Racism in Bermuda at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute next month.

CURB president Cordell Riley will be facilitator, with Imam Azhar Haneef the keynote speaker

A letter on behalf of the AMCB states: “This faith-based symposium is a unique event aimed at bringing together representatives from different faith and social organisations to discuss how to promote social peace and harmony in Bermuda.

“Issues such as violence, peace in the family, care of the aged, racism and discrimination will be discussed.

“The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Bermuda sincerely hopes that this endeavour would help evolve a better understanding of how to encourage peace and harmony in Bermuda.”

The event is free on Saturday, March 10, from 4pm to 6pm, but people are asked to register by e-mailing alislam.bermuda[AT]gmail.com or calling 519-4535.
