The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Canada is urging the media to play its due role in eliminating all the misconceptions about Islam.

The AMJC this week hosted a dinner reception for local media representatives in Toronto to introduce the community as a ‘peace-loving’ and to clear misconceptions about their religion.

“Today as the world is fraught with danger and turmoil sitting on an extremely critical juncture, its time to spread message of peace,” said A. Haleem Tayyib, AMJC’s media coordinator. “It’s the media who can play its due role to eliminate misconception.”

The reception was well-attended by media outlets from across the GTA.

On the occasion Tayyib said the community is constantly engaged in promoting peace, condemning terrorism, and dispelling negative myths about Islam as well as serving the humanity at large.
