In a bid to improve computer literacy in the district, Humanity First, a non-governmental Muslim organisation under the auspices of Ahamadiya Musilim Association, has commissioned an Information and Technology block in Budaka District.
The Shs100m block was a donation to the Institute of Information and Technology, the only one in the district, opened in 2007 in the district.
The chief executive, Ahamadiya Muslim Association Uganda, Mr Maulana Zahid Inayatullah, said: “Professional skills gained under these programmes will benefit generation after generation. We only need maximum results by communities embracing the programme by properly utiliSing the facility for gainful purposes” he said.
He urged the political leaders in the district to cooperate in sensitising the local communities to take up vocational education in a bid to create self-employment other than depending on the few white color jobs.
