THE Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Fiji's youth branch, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Fiji is engaged in relief work in severely affected areas in Nadi.
Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Fiji has been actively taking part in helping flood victims in co-ordination with the National Disaster Management Committee (DISMAC).
Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Fiji's national president, Ashfaaq Ahmad Khan said in a statement that Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya visited grief-stricken families of Nawaka in Nadi on March 31.
Armed with their motto, 'A Nation cannot be reformed without the reformation of its youth', members catered for about 150 evacuees at St Andrews Primary School.
They also provided meals for service men and women during floods at Nadi Hospital including members of National Fire Authority, and officers from Nadi Police Station.
Mr Khan said Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya members also fed evacuees at the Nadi Police evacuation centre and all on duty police officers in Nadi Town on street patrols.
He said on April 7, the youth group cooked food for the hard working military personnel cleaning the streets of Nadi, and Natabua Prison inmates and wardens.
Group members also fed members of the Mobile Police Unit, DISMAC staff, members also visited and fed families in the badly affected Navakai Settlement.
Mr Khan said Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya members had catered for about 480 people in the second phase of their distribution.
