“We hope the public will spare a few minutes for something which could improve a person’s health and in certain cases save lives. An estimated 150,000 people have a stroke in the UK each year and it is the largest single cause of severe disability." [Dr Aziz Hafiz, GP]

Keighley people are being offered free health checks this Sunday by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association.
GPs and pharmacists will be at the Ahmadiyya Centre, 17 Longcroft, Keighley – next to Fitness First – from 3 to 7pm.
The checks will include height, weight, BMI scores, blood pressure, pulse and blood sugar levels. And advice will be available on diet, exercise, smoking and alcohol.
Dr Aziz Hafiz, a GP, said: “We hope the public will spare a few minutes for something which could improve a person’s health and in certain cases save lives.
“An estimated 150,000 people have a stroke in the UK each year and it is the largest single cause of severe disability.
“Many lives could have been saved if they had arranged regular blood pressure measurements and then followed medical advice.
“These measurements on offer are particularly useful because there are often no symptoms of high blood pressure.”
