STUDENTS of Ahmadiyya Muslim College in Narere now have better access to technology after Westpac Banking Corporation gave two computers to the school this week.
Having given four computers previously, it was the third visit to the Nasinu school by Westpac staff. The school has a roll of 420 students and computer classes are available for students at fifth form.
Form Seven student and head girl Ashna Devi, 18, said the assistance would be beneficial to them.
"Our lab lacks computers and some of them are not in good condition.They have to share computers and some are able to do their projects while others have to wait," Ms Devi said.
She said not every student had a computer at home and that the bank's help was of great value.
Principal Gyan Prasad said the assistance was a major boost for the school.
"We have students coming from underprivileged families and the school is not financially stable, so this donation is very important to us," Mrs Prasad said.
Westpac human resources manager Jodiann Smith said they had given over 400 computers countrywide.
"The students will have better proficiency in computers now and they will have a better chance of finding employment," she said.
