Ghana: Ahmadi Muslim youth work to promote peace

Winneba, Aug. 7, GNA -The National President of the Majlis Khuddam-ul Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth (male) Association has called on members of the Mission, especially the youth to ensure their words and actions promote peace and national cohesion as the December general elections approach.

The President of the Association, Mr Kwansah-Nyame, made the call when he joined the Mission’s youth to mark this year’s “Dignity of Labour Day” at Assin Fosu.

The Dignity of Labour Day (Waqar-e-amal) is a special day set aside by members of the Association to offer communal services while carrying out outreach on cleanliness in communities in its catchment areas.

It was organised by the Central Wing of the Ahmadiyya Youth Organization (AYO).

Mr Kwansah-Nyame said: “Islam is about peace and humility and love for country also counts a lot. I urge you to tolerate one another as we approach the general elections”.

This year’s regional event was marked with a clean up exercise at the Saint Francis Xavier Hospital at Assini Fosu.  About 1,000 male youth drawn from Twifo Praso and the Assin North and South districts took part in the exercise.

They cleared areas around the staff bungalows, the hospital park and other parts of the facility and undertook other general cleaning at the hospital premises.

Mr Usman Baidoo, Central Regional President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission-Ghana, said the organization opted for the hospital because it is a principal health facility in the Assin North.
