Germany: Muslims donate blood in efforts to better integrate


The Ahmadiyya is the world's third largest movement in Islam and has approximately 30,000 members here in Germany. The oldest mosque in Hamburg was built by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in 1957.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Hamburg organized a blood donation campaign at their mosque  last Sunday.

The event at Bait-Ur-Rasheed Mosque was arranged by the Ahmadiyya youth wing, Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya, in concert with the German Red Cross.

The community plans to continue the effort now elsewhere in Germany.

The blood drive organizer said: "Islam is for us to help people, regardless of their religion or origin".

The drive had received more than 90 applications.
