Eight children and youth of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community were guest in the St. Paul retirement home in  Wittlich-Wengerohr.

They wanted to give 80 nursing home residents flowers and homemade Happy new year cards. These were inspired by the peaceful message of the Muslims themselves and wished all the best for the community members.

"Special care for and respect towards older people have an important role in Islam," said Shahid Zafar Ahmad, chairman of the youth organization of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Wittlich-Wengerohr.

The community wanted this action to be a sign of integration and unity between groups of different religious backgrounds.

"We, as the youth organization of the community, want to go about our duties towards older people in our society and give them a little treat," says Ijaz Mubashar Ahmad Zafar.

In the future the Ahmadiyya community would continue to plan such events.

The nursing home management thanked the Islamic community for the visit and look forward to further cooperation.
