Perspective: Love for all, hatred for none!

We, the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, firmly hold our stance that Islam is a peaceful and complete religion. Quran clearly states that killing an innocent person is just like killing the whole mankind.

Religions should be judged on their teachings and not on the actions of their adherents.  This is the only way to judge fairly.  For example, we see that the New Testament teaches complete forgiveness:

‘But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.’(Matthew: 5:39)

But the domestic and foreign policies of Christian nations are not based on this teaching.  Should we start assuming that Christianity is an aggressive religion? No, we should not, for it would be a great injustice to this great religion. In the same way I would like people to examine my religion, Islam, before making assumptions based on the actions of so-called Muslims.

We, the members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, firmly hold our stance that Islam is a peaceful and complete religion. Quran clearly states that killing an innocent person is just like killing the whole mankind.

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be on him) once travelled to Ta’if, a city about sixty miles to the southeast of Mecca, to spread the message of Islam but had to face the worst acts of brutality by the people of Ta’if.  They ridiculed the Prophet and then set the street boys loose on him as he was leaving.  These vagabonds pelted him continuously for several miles outside the city. The Holy Prophet was bleeding profusely.  Tradition states that at that time angel Gabriel came to him and said:

"If you permit I can crush the people of this valley between the two mountains on its either side.”

The Prophet’s response was, "Nay, among their progeny might be those who worship the true God."

Today Ahmadi Muslims are persecuted brutally in Pakistan, and several other Muslims countries, for their belief in the Promised Messiah, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian.  Ahmad came in accordance with the prophecies made some 1400 years before his advent by Prophet Muhammad.  His followers, known as Ahmadi Muslims, have always shown the highest degree of steadfastness and patience and have never retaliated to persecution with violence.  They are loyal subjects to whichever country they live in, be it a Muslim country or otherwise.  They have responded by focusing on education and personal reformation.  It is no coincidence that the first Muslim Nobel Laureate, Dr. Abdus Salam, was an Ahmadi Muslim.  Sir Zafarullah Khan, another Ahmadi Muslim, also stands prominent in history for having served two terms on the International Court of Justice at The Hague, and as the President of the UN General Assembly (1962-63).

Thus,  Ahmadi Muslims are the only living example in the world today, who have tied their lives with the teachings of Islam. Their actions are truly demonstrating this principal, Love for all, hatred for none
