A Muslim Imam invited to attend special service at a local church in California presented a copy of The Holy Qur'an as a special token of thanks from the Muslim community.

Imam Shamshad Ahmad Nasir, Southwest Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, accompanied by Rehman Abdul Aleem, interfaith outreach director for the Baitul Hameed Mosque in Chino, attended the special Thanksgiving Service at the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Ontario, California.

The Holy Qur'an was presented to Pastor Michael Ingram of the Christian Science church.

Imam Shamshad Nasir said he could not think of a better present than the Holy Qur'an on the Thanksgiving Day. “The Holy Qur'an is the best gift for the Thanksgiving because it teaches how one can be thankful to Allah and his creation.”

“WE all have much to be grateful for, and I am grateful for your friendship and the good you do for our community,” Imam Shamshad quoted Pastor Ingram from his invitation email.

Pastor Michael Ingram and Imam Shamshad Nasir have been involved with other religious leaders through the Upland Interfaith Council for several years, which includes members of numerous faiths including, Islam, Catholic, LDS, Unitarian Church, Jewish, and B'hai traditions.

“Our presence has allowed us to educate our faith partners about Christian Science, and gives us the opportunity to learn about their beliefs as well,” Pastor Ingram said in one of his website post.

“There is a deep love for God shared by all on the council and we can come together in brotherhood,” Pastor Ingram had added.
