Guatemala: Humanity First Gift of Health medical camps see over 2,000 patients in 4 days
The Gift of Health effort is organized by a 28-member all volunteer medical and support staff team with members from Guatemala, the United States and Canada.

'In 4 days, Gift of Health team has seen 2148 patients in the pediatric and general medicine clinics,' Humanity First - Guatemala reported in one of their social media post late yesterday.
Humanity First of Guatemala is part of an international disaster relief organization of the same name - Humanity First - headquartered in London, and with sister organizations operating in several countries including the US and Canada.
The Gift of Health effort is organized by a 28-member all volunteer medical and support staff team with members from Guatemala, the United States and Canada.
A 13-member team of medical professionals, student and general volunteers from the Humanity First USA arrived in Guatemala on December 18.
According to HF-Guatemala reports, patients are being seen by physicians free of charge in multiple clinics operating in Santo Domingo Xenacoj and Alotenango municipalities in Sacatepéquez department of Guatemala.
Patients also receives their medications free of charge.
Patients are given hygiene packs also that consist of toothbrushes and toothpastes; and other direly needed health care supplies.
Children being seen at the clinics also get toys.
Akram Khalid, a volunteer who traveled to Guatemala from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, says the team is working exceptionally hard and welcoming patients with smiling face.
"We start our day from 7:15 am and stop working until patients stop showing," wrote Khalid who along with his wife, Dr. Tahira Khalid, are serving in Gift of Health project. "Last two days we arrived back to our hotel after 9:00 pm."
"It's a rewarding work. We are serving humanity."
