The 90th Annual Convention of Bangladesh’s Ahmadiyya Muslim Community begins Friday, February 7, at their national headquarter located on Bakshi Bazar Road in Dhaka.
The three day event, affectionately known as Jalsa Salana, will start at 3:00 PM on Friday following a traditional flag hoisting ceremony where Ahmadiyya Muslim and Bangladesh National flags will be raised with prayers.
Jalsa Salana organizers say that due to the recent streets and political unrest in Bangladesh, there was a degree of uncertainty about the event.
“By the grace of Allah, the situation is much better and stable now,” wrote Ahmad Tabshir Choudhury, national vice president and public relations officer of the community in Bangladesh.
Live video streaming of the entire convention will be available at www.ahmadiyyabangla.org and www.alislam.org.
Recorded glimpses of the convention will be aired during regular Bangla Shomprochar Program on Muslim Television Ahmadiyya on Saturday and Sunday.
