In London, UK, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association organised a visit by its members to the Central Gurdwara (Khalsa Jattha).
Central Gurdwara is the oldest established Sikh place of worship in Europe.
The opportunity to visit the Gurdwara was arranged by the President of the Central Gurdwara, Mr. Rajinder Singh Bhasin where he enlightened the group, including some children, about Sikhism and how the teaching involves promotion of peace, rights of women and showing love and kindness even to your enemies. The talk was followed by a questions and answer session.
Mrs Myra Farooq, an Ahmadi Muslim woman from the visiting group, said as Islam gives full rights to women and respect for them, she learned, Sikhism also has many similarities with Islam and it also teaches us to respect women; and promote peace, love and harmony.
Farooq said that in countries like Pakistan, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community is being targeted by the fundamentalists just as some Mughals did with Sikhs, which does not represent the true Islam.

Just like the Sikhs, Mrs Farooq further added, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community also organises Langars , where free food is served to everyone irrespective of their background.
