AN ANNUAL peace conference that celebrates the diversity of the town will be held for the 10th time on Saturday.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (AMA) Slough will host the Peace Symposium at The Langley Academy, in Langley Road.

The conference is themed 'Love for All, Hatred for None’ and will include guest speakers from religious organisations, academics and MPs.

Atiq Ahmad Bhatti, president of AMA Slough, said: “One of the beauties of living in Slough is being a part of its diversity. We have a multitude of cultural and religious variety, all of which coexist alongside one another.

“In a unique environment such as this, it is important to share this splendid diversity with each other and remind ourselves of the values that we have in common. With each year that passes and the increasing unrest in the World, the need for this becomes more and more apparent.”

The conference aims to promote a better understanding between faith and community groups to 'develop a more harmonious society’.

The event, which starts at 3pm, coincides with the AMA UK’s centenary celebrations. Entry is free, but anyone wanting to attend should email info@peace-symposium.co.uk or call 07812 070810
