UK: #Ride4Peace cyclists finish gruelling 600 mile trip taken to raise funds for charities


The cyclists from across the country had gathered in Glasgow to take part in the bike ride to raise money for charity and to promote peace.

A group of cyclists promoting religious understanding have finished a 600 mile trip from Glasgow to London.

The 25 men from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spent two days travelling through the North East, visiting mosques in Newcastle, Hartlepool and the Commonwealth War Graveyard in Ripon.

Prior to the ride-end, national spokesperson of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community in the UK, Dr Basharat Nazir, welcomed the incoming cyclist as they neared their destination.

"My respects for 25 heroes who complete 600-mile epic cycling today, reaching Fazl Mosque 11.20 AM; Baitul Futuh Mosque 12.30 PM #Ride4Peace," Dr Nazir announced via Twitter, a microbloging website.

The cyclists from across the country had gathered in Glasgow to take part in the bike ride to raise money for charity and to promote peace, it was announced previously by the organizers of Ride4Peace event.

The event, named ‘Ride4Peace’, has been organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (AMC) saw cyclists tour the British countryside, stopping at 13 Mosques in Glasgow, Newcastle, Hartlepool, Bradford, Huddersfield, Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Oxford, Feltham, Southfields (London) and Morden (London).
