The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria (AMJN) has enjoined the Federal Government to look beyond the barrel of guns in winning the war against insurgency in the country.
The deputy national head, Eastern Region of AMJN, Dr Gani Enahoro, made the plea in Warri, Delta State, at a press briefing on the Eastern Region Conference, with the theme: “Advent of the Promised Messiah and Interfaith Harmony.”
Enahoro stated that the recent activities of Boko Haram had further mystified the agenda of the sect, noting that if the phenomenon was not properly handled, it might bring the country to its knees.
He described AMJN as a peace-loving and peace-promoting 100-year-old Islamic community which has presence in more than 200 countries.
The conference was attended by the national president of AMJN, Dr Mash’hood Adenrele Fashola; national president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, as well as delegates of the Jama›at from Edo, Delta, Rivers and other South-South and South-East states which make up the Eastern Region.
