Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Australia (Ahmadiyya Muslims Youth Association) and Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya Australia (Ahmadiyya Muslim Kids Association) held its 32nd National Ijtema at Baitul Mahmood Mosque, Adelaide

Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Australia (Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association – Men aged 15 to 40) and Majlis Atfalul Ahmadiyya Australia (Ahmadiyya Muslim Kids Association – Boys aged 7 to 15) concluded their three-day national Ijtema on 5th of April 2015 in the newly purchased Baitul Mahmood Mosque in Adelaide. More than 500 members from both associations participated in the annual national event.

The event is normally held each year at Baitul Huda Mosque in Sydney, with the aim of increasing the moral standards of Ahmadi Muslim youth and promoting a spirit of peace, brotherhood and unity. But this year, for the first time in the Association’s history, it was held in South Australia where participants travelled from all across the country. Most of the members, along with their friends and families, flew from different parts of the country to Adelaide, where they were received at the domestic airport by local youth members. Groups from Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne hired buses and small coaches and journeyed in small groups.

On 3rd of April 2015 Mr Waqas Ahmad, National President of Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya Australia visited the Ijtema site to check the final preparations and gave valuable directives. To mark the official inauguration of the Ijtema, the flag hoisting ceremony was held at 01:00PM at Baitul Mahmood mosque. Khuddam and Atfal gathered in the main hall of the mosque for Friday prayers, which was led by Imam Inamul Haq Kauser, the National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Australia.

In his Friday sermon, Imam Kauser emphasized the need and benefits of attending such Ijtemas. He said that the true purpose of this gathering is not only sports and competitions, but to increase the moral and ethical standards of our youth.

He reminded members that the second Khalifa of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, who also founded all auxiliary structures within the community, had famously said, “Nations cannot be reformed without the reformation of the youth”. He said that Ahmadi Muslim youth should strive to be exemplary role models for their peers and should always be watchful of their conduct.

The National President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Australia (MKAA) Mr Waqas Ahmed said:
“Our three-day national youth event was a great success where more than 500 Ahmadiyya Muslim youth members competed against each other in sports and academic events. They travelled in groups from all across the country and stayed under one roof for three days and three nights. They established a special bond of friendship and brotherhood and learnt from one another in various aspects.”
